Chris of "Joe's Table for 2" stopped into Donkey's Place in Camden to grab a bite of their famous "Jersey Cheesesteak". The sandwich is hands down one of the best cheesesteaks on this side of the Delaware River.
Donkey's Place has been around for many years. Located on Haddon Street in Camden, it has a small town nostalgia to it. It is a vintage small, local bar where everyone knows each other and many stop in for a quick bite to eat or to grab a beer. The staff is incredibly friendly and they also like to chat with their patrons.
The Jersey Cheesesteak contains all of the fixings that you'll find on a cheesesteak. Grilled beef with cheese and fried onions, but is served on a poppy seed roll. The sandwich tasted fantastic, as is expected from someone who's favorite food is the cheesesteak itself. The roll was soft, the steak was well cooked and the onions added a nice, sweet taste. A good item to try and eat for a low price of $8.
Donkey's Place has been a "must visit" spot in Camden for many years. They have built their legacy on the Jersey Cheesesteak and the sandwich does not disappoint. Highly recommended to stop and give this cheesesteak that represents the great state of New Jersey a try!
