Ingredients
All purpose flour - 2 cups
Granulated sugar - 5 tbsps
Salt - pinch
White wine - 1/2 cup
Anise seeds - 1/2 tsp
Olive oil - 1/2 cup
Oil for baking sheet
Egg, beated - 1
Sift the flour in a bowl and add the sugar, salt, wine, anise seeds and olive oil. Mix to a dough and knead thoroughly. Cover and leave for 1 hour. Divide the dough into 20 pieces, shape these into cylinders the thickness of a finger, and then into rings.
Arrange them on a greased baking sheet, brush with beaten egg and bake in a hot oven (425F) for about 20 minutes.
